Lyn Bainbridge

Drawing and painting are, for me, ways of seeing into things, of being in the world more fully. I love the challenge of capturing something that I have seen and then passing that feeling on to others to see and enjoy. I love the technical challenge of producing a good likeness in a portrait and getting inside the character of a sitter so that it creates a shock of recognition in the viewer. But, in that sense, all paintings are portraits of the moment or feeling they represent.
