Tendon goniometer 1
$1955
Size: 120 H x 35 W x 60 cm

Tendon Goniometer 1 is a measuring apparatus that uses tension, resonance and light to test the deteriorating flexibility in a Ballet Dancer's Tendons. It interacts with the creaking and crunching of the petrifying joints.

Balletic goniometer 2
$3779
Size: 270 H x 100 W x 80 cm

The Balletic Goniometer is a device designed to provide an antipositivist reading of the performers in a 'pataphysical ballet. Henri Bergson in his 'Essay on the Meaning of the Comic' talks of a duality in human form between the 'graceful', 'supple' soul that is “subject to no law of gravitation” and the 'mechanical', 'petrifying' body that holds it back. This sculpture is to be used to provide a geometric analysis of how the petrifying body thwarts the fleeting soul of the 'pataphysical ballet performer.

Choreographic binnacle 4
$1270
Size: 90 H x 30 W x 25 cm

Glass, Lights, Wood, Marble and Metal

Choreographic Binnacle 4 acts as a visual control point for the choreographer in a metaphysical ballet. It works by casting dynamic refracted light patterns onto the stage to act as visual directions for the performers to follow.

Phenakistoscope
$5082
Size: 100 H x 35 W x 35 cm

A dynamic sculpture that comprises of a rotating wooden cage around a static illuminated core. The cage rotating casts dynamic shadows onto the surroundings.

Ligament goniometer 2
$1955
Size: 100 H x 60 W x 60 cm

Ligament Goniometer 2 is a measuring apparatus that uses tension, resonance and light to test the deteriorating flexibility in a Ballet Dancer's Ligaments. It interacts with the creaking and crunching of the petrifying joints.

Console 1

Glass, Lights and Wood on Glass and Wood.

Console 1 is a Sculpture in Apple Wood, blown glass and lights. it is designed to fit into the corner of 2 walls and the ceiling. It is finished with french polish.

It was inspired by the natural geometry found in the Apple Wood.

Ligament goniometer 1
$2476
Size: 100 H x 60 W x 60 cm

Wood on Glass, Steel and Wood.

Ligament Goniometer 1 is a measuring apparatus that uses tension, resonance and light to test the deteriorating flexibility in a Ballet Dancer's Ligaments. It interacts with the creaking and crunching of the petrifying joints.

Lucent gargoyle 1
$3388
Size: 100 H x 40 W x 50 cm

Lucent Gargoyle 1 is a refractive, architectural sculpture. Traditional, stone gargoyles channel water of the roofs of buildings. This gargoyle uses the refractive power of glass to refract and channel light instead.

Ligament goniometer 3
$1955
Size: 105 H x 60 W x 70 cm

Wood on Glass, Wood and Other.

Ligament Goniometer 3 is a measuring apparatus that uses tension, resonance and light to test the deteriorating flexibility in a Ballet Dancer's Ligaments. It interacts with the creaking and crunching of the petrifying joints.

Orthogon 1.2

This piece is from the same edition as Orthogon 1, however it differs slightly from the original version. It is constructed using slenderer timber elements and finished using a sapele veneer and French Polish. The glass is constructed from glass cubes instead of blown glass.

Orthogon 1.1

These pieces are from the same edition as Orthogon 1, however they differ slightly from the first version. They are constructed using slenderer timber elements and finished using a walnut veneer and French Polish.

Telephonic goniometer 1

Telephonic Goniometer 1 contains 2 glass vessels that are connected directly like a string telephone. The glass vessels can be seen as being in communication with one another. This dual sound-box set up means that there are more modes of resonant interaction to contemplate when you imagine the sculpture is measuring a Ballet Performance

Nicodean apparatus 2
Size: 39.4 H x 78.7 W x 78.7 inches

Nicodean Apparatus 2 - 'Pataphysical Theater is part of my Geometric Apparatus series that are designed to test our notions of beauty in complex geometric forms. The twisting shapes of the wood become incomprehensible using euclidean notation so this device is designed to provide an antipositivist, abstract knowledge of how these geometries affect us emotionally. It is a wooden armature that supports 12 fully operational and tunable guitar type strings. Each string is attached at one end to its own tuning peg and at the other to an array of brass arms. Through a gear mechanism the array can be twisted to affect the tuning of the strings by small movements and vibrations in the two rib structures.
